Your support is paramount to offer healthcare to children e adolescents also during the pandemic
This October 26, Pequeno Príncipe Hospital turns 101 years, facing one of the most challenging moments of its history: the coronavirus pandemic. While we take care of the victims of COVID-19, we keep delivering care in 32 medical specialties, as children and adolescents continue to need treatment in Cardiology, Neurology, Transplants, Oncology and many others health areas.
They are boys and girls like Gisele, who were diagnosed with a cancer when she was a child and needed to go under a long treatment to reach the cure. Now she is 30 years old, is a volunteer at Pequeno Príncipe and dedicates her time and talent to other children, whose, like her, face long battles for life. “I thank the Hospital for taking care of me, for teaching me to be strong and for giving me the opportunity to give back a bit of the love and care I once received,” she says.
Gisele is one of the many lives that Pequeno Príncipe helped to transform during its centennial journey. Only in the last ten years, with your help, the Hospital served:
- 3 million outpatients;
- 233 thousand admissions;
- 193 thousand surgeries;
- 40 thousand chemotherapy sessions; and
- 2 thousand transplants.
Throughout more than 100 years, Pequeno Príncipe have impacted millions of families, saving the lives of boys and girls with a humanized care and technical scientific excellence.
