Gala do Bem: all together against childhood cancer

The Gala do Bem is an initiative of the Pequeno Príncipe Hospital that unites two traditional events for mobilizing society: the Pequeno Príncipe Gala and the Jantar do Bem. The event was held on October 9, at Espaço Klaine, in Curitiba (state of Paraná) and the aim of the event is to raise funds that will be used for health assistance and research activities against childhood cancer developed at the institution, thus contributing to the challenge and global goal of reduction in infant mortality.

The highlight of the evening was the exclusive menu consisting of a starter and two main courses prepared by renowned chefs, led by the patron of the event, chef Claude Troisgros, who cooked alongside chefs Morena Leite and Rafa Costa e Silva. The Espaço Klaine, a great supporter of the initiative, signed an exquisite dessert.

The event featured the involvement of two great supporters of the cause of children and adolescents’ health: Many Tigre Elache and Marjorie Geiger Hauser were the philanthropic supporters of this very special edition. For more than ten years, they have mobilized their relationship networks in favor of the cause of cancer and played a fundamental role in the implementation of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Service of Pequeno Príncipe, which today is one of the main services in Latin America, carrying out about 10% of all pediatric bone marrow transplantations in Brazil.

Conducted by masters of ceremonies João Marcelo Vieira and Adriana Birolli, the event also had a reserved moment to honor important names in philanthropy and medicine. Tatiana Reichmann, CEO of Ademicon, and medical hematologist Eurípides Ferreira were the main honorees of this edition.

Tatiana, a businesswoman from Curitiba, was the social honoree. She is a supporter of Pequeno Príncipe and has stood out in the business world for her human and inclusive vision, highlighting the importance of the role of women in the job market and relevant philanthropy.

Eurípides Ferreira is one of the doctors responsible for implementing and developing the Oncology and Hematology – which began in the 1960s – and the Bone Marrow Transplantation services in Pequeno Príncipe. With a great deal of study, knowledge, compassion, and humanization, he made possible – alongside all teams of the services – what are now the largest oncology service in Paraná and the one of the most important pediatric bone marrow transplantation centers in Latin America. And, in this way, they welcomed, treated, take cared for, and saved many children, adolescents and their families. The moment of tribute to the physician was marked by great emotion.

To make the event even more special

The Gala do Bem had a series of musical attractions, which made the event even more special. During the cocktail served at the beginning, pianist, singer, and composer Bernardo Manita performed a track full of jazz and blues. The Pequeno Príncipe Choir, composed by Hospital employees, also gave a performance full of emotion among its participants. And to round off the evening, a lively setlist was presented by DJ Nizo Gomide.

During the Gala do Bem there was also an auction of special items, such as shirts from the Brazilian national team and soccer clubs in Paraná signed by Pelé, a canvas by the artist André Mendes, a pair of earrings by Duah Fine Jewelry, and a dress signed by Rafael Chaouiche.
