2025 Pequeno Príncipe Gala returns to Rio with great names from gastronomy and a charitable purpose

The event unites fine dining and solidarity in support of children’s and adolescents’ health

On October 6th, the iconic Belmond Copacabana Palace, in Rio de Janeiro, will be the stage for a memorable evening: the 2025 Pequeno Príncipe Gala. The event, which will celebrate its 16th edition, will bring together great names from Brazilian gastronomy for a noble cause — raising funds for the health assistance and research activities at Pequeno Príncipe Hospital, the largest and most complete pediatric hospital in Brazil.

This year, the dinner will be signed by four chefs who represent the excellence of Brazilian cuisine: the patron of the event, Claude Troisgros, alongside Roberta Sudbrack, Helena Rizzo, Jessica Trindade, and Wellington Barcellos. Together, they will create a unique gastronomic experience where flavor and solidarity will go hand in hand.

With the presentation of Giovanna Ewbank and Bruno Gagliasso, the Gala will also feature special tributes: model and influencer Daniella Sarahyba Klabin will be recognized for her engagement in social causes, while Dr. José Sampaio Neto, a digestive system surgeon and head of the Liver Transplantation Service at Pequeno Príncipe Hospital, will be honored for his impactful scientific work.

The event’s co-chair is philanthropist Daniele Giacomazzi Behring, alongside philanthropic investor Amalia Spinardi Thompson Motta, long-time partners of the cause.

With an ambitious fundraising goal, 2025 Gala aims to ensure the continuity of two fundamental pillars of Pequeno Príncipe Hospital: providing excellent healthcare for children and adolescents from the Brazilian Public Health System (known as SUS) and investing in cutting-edge scientific research.

Currently, 60% of hospitalizations at the Hospital are from the Brazilian Public Health System patients, but the reimbursement received covers only US$ 9 for every US$ 20 spent — resulting in a 43% deficit per treatment. In addition, investment in science in Brazil is still below ideal levels, with less than 1.2% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) allocated to research and innovation.

Despite these challenges, Pequeno Príncipe remains firm in its mission. Support for events like the Gala is crucial to ensure the institution continues providing high-complexity treatments, access to state-of-the-art technology, and new possibilities for curing thousands of children across the country.

“Taking care of the health of our children is a commitment of society as a whole. The Gala is proof that when we unite talent, generosity, and purpose, we can transform realities,” says Ety Cristina Forte Carneiro, executive director of Pequeno Príncipe Hospital.
