After the fire in the outpatient clinic, Pequeno Príncipe estimated damage of over US$ 1 million

After the fire that destroyed the Oncology, Hematology, and Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) Outpatient Clinic, Pequeno Príncipe Hospital estimates that investments for the reconstruction and improvements of the area are at least US$ 1 million. The fire affected the entire space, which comprises a reception, four offices, a nursing station, two beds for procedures, two isolation rooms, 16 chemotherapy chairs, and multiple supplies and equipment.

The institution is awaiting an inspection from the insurance company, which is finalizing the report for reimbursement, and believes that part of the reconstruction can be done with these resources. With this information, it will be possible to predict more accurately how long the restoration will take. “It is important to explain to the community that part of the damage will be covered by insurance, but we still do not know the conditions related to deadlines and values. However, immediate reconstruction is essential,” says the executive director of the Hospital, Ety Cristina Forte Carneiro.
